Who doesn’t love winning? We know we do. And we couldn’t be more excited to win Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 award for the fastest-growing tech company headquartered in Belgium. Even more exciting news: this qualifies us for the Technology Fast 500 EMEA in Paris on December 7th, joining an all-star lineup of the most innovative, rapid growers in Europe. Suit up!
2097% growth in sales
Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 is awarded to the fastest-growing tech company in Belgium, based on percentage growth in turnover over the last four years. During that time, Teamleader recorded a 2097% growth in sales, resulting in the coveted first spot in the overall competition as well as in the software category. Brussels-based video production agency 87 seconds and Ghent-based sales enablement platform Showpad came in second and third with 1331% and 989% respectively. Spott from Aalst won the Rising Star competition.
It goes without saying that we’re absolutely thrilled. In fact, we’re mildly hungover - on a weekday. After all, merely being featured among well-established household names - let alone taking home the prize - is an honour we don’t take lightly.
“The success of Teamleader illuminates the huge potential Belgian technology scale-ups have,” Deloitte Private’s Managing Partner Nikolaas Tahon stressed, “by combining a crisp business strategy with differentiating talent and entrepreneurial leadership.”
Huge motivator for our European adventure
An award like this is obviously great news for Teamleader. Especially considering the international opportunities this brings, as the Fast 500 in Paris - where we just opened an office last month - is one of the leading platforms in the whole of Europe. The attention of a brand new crowd is a great motivator in our continued quest to become market leader in Europe.
Our CEO Jeroen was of course present to receive the award. Between handing out and receiving high-fives and smiling broadly, he had this to say:
“The past few years have been an incredible journey. Next to our growth in sales, our customer base expanded from a little over 200 customers in early 2014 to over 7,000 customers today. This award is also a recognition of our team’s efforts: we wouldn’t be here without our colleagues, partners, and customers.”
Looking to the future
Of course, we never cease to look forward to better serve our customer base.
With regards to the product, we’ll continue our journey from product to platform. This means adding more integrations with both local and international software tools to our buzzing Teamleader Marketplace (114 integrations and growing!), and a new API in 2018. We’ll also launch new features, give existing features - like our calendar and invoicing - a makeover and involve our customers in improving their mobile experience through feedback from user groups.
Furthermore, we’re looking to expand our team on some key positions. We’re specifically searching for people with a wealth of experience in their field, all over Europe, from marketing to customer success. So if you know somebody who might know somebody, head on over to our vacancies page.
All this and more to keep the Teamleader train rolling. We’re not easily satisfied, and neither should our customers be.
“This award is a great honour, but at the same time we realise that it offers a rear-view mirror perspective. If we want to keep bringing value to more SMEs we have to conquer new countries, innovate our product and strengthen our international team.” - CEO Jeroen De Wit
