Teamleader raises 10 million euros in new funding

Teamleader receives a new capital injection for 10 million euros. A new highlight in an already fantastic 2016!

Tech Startup of the Year, Most promising SME of East-Flanders, the opening of our new office in Spain: 2016 was a year we won't soon forget. Today, we're adding yet another great chapter: we've collected no less than 10 million euros through a Series B investment. With this capital injection, lead investor Fortino Capital (among others) confirms their trust in Teamleader.

High ambitions

It's hard to believe, but Teamleader has only been around for 4 years. In that short period of time, we've developed into a scalable, multinational business with 100 employees and offices in Ghent, Amsterdam and Berlin. Madrid followed earlier this year.

"Our ambition to become the undisputed market leader in Europe is coming ever closer."

In the meantime, concrete plans were drawn up to enter other European markets as well. An office in Paris, Milan or Rome? We'll keep you in suspense just a little longer. Either way, our ambition to become the European market leader is getting closer by the day.

At this moment, over 3500 customers are part of the Teamleader family, and we're happy to welcome over 200 new ones every month. CEO Jeroen De Wit: "The previous investment by Fortino Capital allowed us to evolve from start-up to scale-up. This new investment will be used to solidify our European growth, in order to become market leaders in the nearby future. Then, perhaps we'll cross the ocean," Jeroen smiles.

Enormous European SME market

There is still a lot of growth potential for Teamleader in Europe, Jeroen states. "The past couple of years have been nothing short of brilliant: our growth has tripled, we went from 15 to 100 employees, and opened offices in Amsterdam, Berlin and Madrid. But to us, this is just the beginning."

"The European Commission estimates there are 23 million SMEs in Europe. Many of those SMEs are currently looking for ways to increase their productivity and competitiveness: they realize that digitisation is becoming more and more of a necessity. This funding puts us in an excellent position to aim for market leadership in the SME market."

Local anchoring

One of the points of pride of Teamleader is undoubtedly the strong local anchoring. By appointing local teams in the countries in which we are active, you as a customer will always receive support from people who understand your context.

That approach is part of our DNA, and we want to guarantee this in the future as well: "in the future, we won't just apply that local approach by using local teams. We want to apply it to our product as well, through integrations with local software. This will make it even easier for you as an SME to digitise", Jeroen concludes.

Unbridled confidence in the future

Investment fund Fortino Capital confirms its trust in Teamleader with this investment. Managing partner Duco Sickinghe: "We've been involved with Teamleader for two years, and we'd like to be a part of the future growth story. Fortino Capital likes to invest in leaders. From the very start, we perceived Teamleader as a company that has everything it takes to become the absolute European reference in the SME market."

"We were convinced by the potential of their product, but also by Jeroen and his team. And we weren't mistaken. We're looking forward to the story Jeroen and his team will write over the coming years."

Tomorrow can't come soon enough for us either. But let's be clear: just for today, the world is Teamleader green.
