Teamleader welcomes Country Manager José Marcos Lopéz-Ríos

It’s been almost one and a half year since we opened our office in Madrid, and our team has grown considerably since then. Last month, we welcomed seasoned IT specialist José Marcos Lopéz-Ríos as our new Country Manager for Spain. We’re happy to briefly introduce him to you!

José has built up an impressive track record throughout his career, with 20 years worth of experience in the software industry. Before joining Teamleader, he worked as Senior Partner Manager for Unit4 and Strategic Alliances Manager for Sage.

Of course, we’re very happy to have such a seasoned veteran on board. As our new Country Manager, his main focus will be twofold:

  • Helping SMEs digitise and improve their business
  • Steering our team to success by coordinating, coaching and supporting them

José has been with our team for one month, and is excited: “This group of people instantly felt like a small family to me, and I’m already proud to be part of this story.”

Important Teamleader milestones

Since we’ve opened our Spanish office in October 2016, our global team grew from 100 people to 180, we raised our Series B funding of € 10 million, and ranked 53rd in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 - a prestigious award for the fastest-growing tech companies in EMEA.

José Marcos Lopéz-Ríos: “Teamleader is starting to make a name for itself in Spain. More and more competitors are starting to take notice of our impressive growth and keep track of what we do, which is a great compliment to what our team is doing.”

Great potential

“But we still have a way to go”, José continues. “My job is to take us to the next level, by getting closer to SMEs, and supporting them in their digitisation journey. We want to help businesses work smarter.

“Why is that important? Well, competition is growing fiercer by the day. We can provide businesses with a competitive edge by helping them save precious time and money, by helping them work more efficiently. I believe that could be the key to success for those businesses.”

“Today, less than a third of Spanish SMEs are using any kind of CRM solution. That means we can still help a massive amount of entrepreneurs. This alone gives us a lot of potential for future growth.”

“But we don’t see it as a mere business opportunity. In fact, it’s our responsibility to support those SMEs in adopting the technology they need. If we succeed in that, we’ll also help them become more successful and competitive - which will benefit the entire ecosystem altogether.”

One step at a time

“One of my first priorities is to understand how we work and align our objectives. Because we have some ambitious plans ahead of us: to become the European market leader in the CRM industry.”

So what sets Teamleader apart from all other companies? “Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked with some great organisations with fantastic company cultures. But none of them compares to Teamleader.
